Christmas in Boju village in Transylvania Plain (evoked by someone who lived it and participated to it)
Augustine Mocanu presents, based on his memories and testimonies of relatives, Christmas customs in Boju village, located in the plains of Transylvania, during the years 1940-1950, stating that it is entirely „without stories and embellishments”. The author speaks about the preparatory activities for celebrating Christmas, from clothing, household, to the variety of food. On many pages it is mentioned the habit of singing carols throughout the village by age categories: small children of 5-6 years old, children from 7-10 years, young boys from 11 to 15-16 years, young men and girls over 16 years and other groups of carolers.
