Vasile Dâncu, About the crises of the spirit and the university
The speech Professor Vasile Dâncu delivered on the occasion of being awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the “Babes-Bolyai” University of Cluj makes reference to the multiple crises in the world today: crises of the spirit and of the culture, of debate and of ideas, of the reason involved in the political or social act of leadership, crises of intelligentsia and confidence. He evokes some famous personalities such as his mentor Ion Aluaş, Metropolitan Bartolomeu Valeriu Anania, Achim Mihu, Vasile Puşcaş, Ioan Aurel Pop, Ioan Hosu or Călin Hinţea. Prof. Vasile Dancu also brings up the University as a place of freedom, which resisted dictatorial regime of any kind.
